Assignment to develop and provide a web-based national comparison service of primary care providers

30 September 2025 | Country Update

In June 2025, the national government commissioned the Swedish eHealth Agency to develop and deliver a web-based national comparison service for primary care providers. The purpose of this initiative is to enhance citizens’ ability to make informed choices by consolidating relevant information about care providers in a single platform. The comparison service will include indicators such as waiting times and opening hours, as well as other data that may be relevant in the choice of provider. As part of the assignment, the agency is also tasked with identifying which indicators should be incorporated to ensure the service is both effective and appropriate. Where relevant data is currently unavailable, such as medical outcomes, the agency may propose the inclusion of such indicators, provided it outlines the nature of the missing data, its importance, and the legal and technical prerequisites for integration. Additionally, the service must be designed to be scalable, allowing for future expansion and refinement of indicators. The service should be available in May 2026.
